The pillar of consumer protection

28 October 2014
Here is a suggestion for policy-makers. Mandate that all developers convert themselves into limited companies or corporations. The idea: to ensure they and their realty projects can be rated by an independent realty rating agency. Make such an agency operate under the watchful eyes of both the realty regulator and the securities regulator.
That should ensure at one go fly-by-night developers are put out of action. That should also make sure greenhorn one-project realtors do not make merry with homesavers’ resources. Ratings and realty are made for each other.
No rating, no realty projects. That should be one of the main pillars of consumer protection. Erect that pillar soon.
